Six months

We are less than six months out from the big day. Things are coming together a lot more now and I'm getting more excited.

As you can see from my previous post I'm kind of burned out on wedding stuff. After fourteen months of this already, and another six to go, I feel like it's never going to get here. Like I'm doing all of this stuff for no reason. Like there isn't even a wedding to attend on November 14th. I'm trying to take everything in stride. Trying not to let the planning get too out of control and trying to remember that this is one day of our lives, its about marriage not about a big huge party for 150 people. Its hard to remember that though, when 80% of the planning has to do with the reception part of the evening and the other 20% is split between the ceremony, my dress and all of those little details.

Things I have gotten together in the last few months have been exciting. I got my TWO wedding dresses back to my house from my moms, I'm going to take the big one this weekend to start the alterations process and won't see it again until a few weeks before the wedding. I'm sort of happy about that though. Out of sight, out of mind.

I also bought my garter, it is really cute. Black and Sedona Red with a little Diamondbacks emblem on them. No, they don't match my wedding colors, but yes we are HUGE D-backs fans and I'm sure Mike will be happy to see that at the end of the night *wink wink*.

Since my dad is paying for most of the wedding we have decided to take on a few of the expenses ourselves, like paying for our cake and for our flowers. I also have to take care of things like getting my wedding dress altered, buying all of my accessories (shoes, undergarments...etc), purchasing the flower girl basket and guest book and taking care of our "night of" hotel arrangements. All and all we are spending about $1,000 ourselves which is totally doable, and realistic for us. Plus paying for the things listed above gives us a sense of accomplishment. Its only right that we contribute to the day.

So that's about that for now. Work is totally crazy and I haven't had much time to do a big update, but I'll try to more often.
