This morning I had what is medically called a Nuchal Translucency Screening, or in Stefanie terms: an ultrasound that determines if Downs Syndrome is prevalent in the fetus or not. Everything looked normal, but I forgot to ask how much the measurement was, bad mommy.
It was easy peasy. Everything looks rad. Deetus was moving around like CRAZY. Maybe it was all the sugar in that huge class of OJ I had this morning or something, but if his baby keeps it up I'm going to be internally bruised at a later point.
I will scan the ultrasound pictures as soon as I can. In the very last one my baby looks like John Kerry. I mean really. The chin. I know ultrasounds are distorted obviously, but its creepy/awesome looking.
My mom went with me because husband is serving jury duty forever. Like six days or something crazy. Mom loved it. She loved the hands and all of the little moving around and stuff. It was amazing to see three generations in the room at once (even though one is in utero).
I go back for my third regular appointment (fourth overall) next Friday the 5th . I will 13 weeks, 6 days.
More updates to follow...
