The day before we met Charlotte

This was a post that was meant to go up three weeks ago, the day before Charlotte's birthday. But I probably forgot. Mother induced amnesia, it's a real thing.

The day before I had Charlotte, was spent relaxing in my super air cooled house. We're talking the AC on 74, the ceiling fan blowing on high, as well as the standing fan on as high as it would go and as close to my face as was safely possible.

My mom came over and gave me a pedicure. Bright orange, I remember, because I was going to be in the hospital for the next few days and wanted my feet to look pretty and happy. That is if I still had feet, I hadn't seen them much in the last 3 months, they may have fallen off.

Little onesies were being hung, floors vacuumed, food prepared for the freezer. Ollie (our "first child"/pug) was being squeezed, and cried on, and apologized to all day. Something like: "I'm sorry you're not going to be our baby anymore, but we still love you just as much as we did when we first met you". All kidding aside, this still makes me a little teary.

But most of the day was spent sitting on the couch. Huge maternity shirt hiked up and over huge belly. Feeling her move inside of me for the last times. Picking out body parts with my husband "Is that her head, or her butt"... "I think that is an elbow, or a knee". Counting the number of times she hiccuped "It was 12 that time, our baby already knows how to hiccup, what a smart baby!" Hands over stretch marks and what used to be my belly button, surely the happiest time of my life.

This video was taken the evening before I had Charlotte. About 20 hours pre-C Section, pre- flabby belly, pre-finally having our daughter in our world. I look at this and can really say "Wow, we're pretty fucking lucky".

*Don't watch if huge bellies, babies moving inside them, or double chins scare you*

OMG your skin is so tight that it looks painful. I love that you and Mike were so excited for the next day - getting to meet your little sweetheart. Great blogging honey - keep it up forever.
